The BMW AG’s Supervisory Board is ensuring that the leadership in innovation and technology remains unchanged

At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of BMW AG set the course to ensure the company’s continued leadership in the areas of development and innovation.

Joachim Post will assume responsibility as Member of the Board of Management for Development on June 1, succeeding Frank Weber. Following the successful completion of series development for the NEUE KLASSE, Frank Weber will conclude his tenure. Joachim Post will, in turn, be succeeded by Nicolai Martin as Member of the Board of Management for Purchasing and Supplier Network.

“Frank Weber and the entire Development Division have delivered outstanding work in recent years, advancing BMW’s key future project—the NEUE KLASSE—to series production readiness,” said Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMW AG, on Thursday.
“Frank Weber deserves our sincere gratitude for this achievement. We wish him all the best for the future. Together with the Board of Management of BMW AG, we are greatly looking forward to the launch of the NEUE KLASSE at the end of this year.”

Joachim Post joined BMW AG in 2002 and has served as Member of the Board of Management for Purchasing and Supplier Network since January 2022. Previously, he held positions including Head of Product Line Midsize Class BMW within the Development Division and Head of Vehicle Strategy.

As successor to Joachim Post, Nicolai Martin has been appointed to the Board of Management of BMW AG, effective June 1. He is currently Head of Product Line Luxury Class BMW and Rolls-Royce and has held several leadership roles within the Development Division. After working in the areas of Complete Vehicle and Powertrain, he led the Driving Experience Division, which oversees the development of driving dynamics, chassis systems, and automated driving.

“Joachim Post has demonstrated outstanding technical expertise and leadership experience over the past years. I am pleased that he will bring these strengths to the Development Division in the future,” said Reithofer.
“With Nicolai Martin, another passionate engineer joins the Board of Management of BMW AG. With his additional business acumen, he is the ideal choice to lead the Purchasing and Supplier Network Division.”

Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG, added:

“Innovation and development are—and will remain—key success factors for BMW. For many years, we have been combining the technical expertise and creative strength of our Development, Production, Purchasing, and Supplier Network Divisions within our comprehensive technology clusters. I am delighted that, with Joachim Post, Nicolai Martin, and Milan Nedeljković, a strong trio will continue to advance this collaboration and reinforce the BMW Group’s leadership in these areas.”
